Indications/Uses
Treatment of heparin overdosage.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Not >50 mg slow IV over ≥10 min.
Contraindications
Not for reversing effect of oral anticoagulants.
Special Precautions
Patients who have previously undergone procedures eg, coronary angioplasty or cardiac-pulmonary bypass which may include use of protamine. Diabetics who have been treated w/ protamine-insulin, allergy to fish & men who have had a vasectomy.
Adverse Reactions
Sudden fall in BP, bradycardia, dyspnoea, transitory flushing & feeling of warmth following inj.
